Importance of Adult Education Programs

education-programIf you are an adult and you want to get bachelor's or even master's degree, this program is for you!
Everyone may say, "I have a full-time job and it is impossible to find the time to complete a college degree." or "I have small children at home and I would never be able to leave the house, and I could never afford the tuition. I'm not even sure if I'm eligible for federal or state financial aid." Today, for many adults enrolled in degree completion programs (DCP) are nationwide. These and many other concerns are no longer an issue.

DCP programs have been exclusively designed for you-the adult learner. This program includes: 1) A small number of age requirements. Uually it is between 23 and 25 years old. 2) A concentration on experiential learning. That is accelerated program format. 3) The availability of weekend, evening, and online course delivery.

DCP programs have emerged as a result of constantly evolving adult learning theories. Especially it is the theory of andragogy, developed by Malcolm Knowles. This theory is based on the assumption that: 1) Adults need to know why they have to learn something. 2) Adults have to learn experientially. 3) Adults approach to learning as problem-solving. 4) Adults can learn better when the topic is of immediate value.

Jumpstart Programs and Workshops
It is naturally, if you're feeling just a little bit nervous about getting back into the study swing-of-things. You may worry about your basic skills which are a bit rusty. It's ok. The Student Development Center and the Adult Student Center offer programs which get you back in the saddle again, from computer workshops to basic math study skills.

Programs for families
The Adult Student Center and the Children's Center work together to make sure your family gets involved in your education too.  It would be useful to take some time out and enjoy a picnic or a Derby party with the kids. Also, you may spend time in your self-interest. You can go to the holiday. There you can meet other students and their families.
